Personality: Brad Crawford is a very calculating man. Head of the group called Schwarz, he is the brains behind any of their operations. Brad is very calculating, and always takes all the small details into account before doing anything. While he is a very ambitious person, he is also very patient, and does not mind taking the time to gather all the information before forming a plan and executing it. He is very possessive of his team. Schuldig is his telepath; Nagi is his telekinetic. It's good for Brad that all the member of Schwarz are able to take care of themselves in battle, so he has less to worry about than if his team members were incompetent (however, because Brad is such a meticulous person, he chose each of his teammates for various reasons and certain qualities they each possess.) However, were anything to happen to his team, Brad would go out of his way to make whomever is resposible pay for what they did. Of course, he would not rush right in- that's not his style. He would take his time scheming, so that when the time comes, he has no regrets and leaves no room for error. Brad likes finacial security, and in his spare time he is perfectly happy to balance their accounts. He is what some would call "stingy" with the money, only because he likes to know that in any case of an emergancy, there is plenty of money to fall back on. And even in times of good fiscal income for the team, he might be a little more lenient (for him), but he still likes to keep the money safe and unspent. Abilities/Strengths: Brad's main ability is that of precognition. Brad was sent to a school in germany called Rosenkreuz when he was a child, where he was trained to control and nuture his ability. The way Brad's power works is that most of the time his visions are uninvited, brief flashes of a possible future. The closer an event is, the stronger and clearer the vision is. He can also try to look into a person's future, though factors such as how far into the future he is looking, the type of person he's investigating, the number of potential decisions awaiting the person between the present and the vision all affect how accurate Brad's vision may be. Another factor is how well he knows the person, and how predictable their actions in life are. For example, trying to see too far into Schuldig's future is sketchy at best, since Schuldig is much more whimsical than most people. But because Brad has known the telepath for many years, he would have a more accurate vision of Schuldig's future than other precogs. In combat, Brad's precognition is his main weapon. In battle, where the enemy can only think so far ahead, it is possible for Brad to get a few seconds' warning of an attack, enough for him to dodge most attacks. As a child, he was trained to be lithe and agile, so that with the brief warning, he is able to react instinctively to avoid attacks. He uses a handgun in combat. Weaknesses: His main weakness is the unreliability of his ability. His visions show just one possible future, and are therefore not absolute. However, because of Brad's cautious, careful, meticulous nature, he rarely ever acts irrationally as a result of a vision. He has built up a system that tells him which visions are most important to address, and which to wait on. Notable Possessions: None. |

History: Note: Early life is a fabrication created by Ro (with Guil's help), as there is little to no canon information avaliable about those years in this character's life. Brad Crawford was born in America and spent most of his childhood in Boston, Massachusetts. At the age of 13, he was "brought" to Rosenkreuz, a facility in Austria where gifted children such as Brad were trained in their special abilities. There, Brad met Schuldig for the first time. At the age of 19, Brad graduated from the program at Rosenkreuz and was sent to work for Eszett. He was placed on a team and worked with them for a couple years, before being made the leader of his own group. By that time, Schuldig had finished at Rosenkreuz, and Brad asked for the telepath to be placed on his team, Schwarz. Later on, Nagi and Farfarello joined Schwarz, forming the group that would later be hired out to the Takatoris as bodyguards. (From here, History is based off canon information) Schwarz became the personal bodyguards to Takatori Reiji, though Brad had little interest in the old man's ambitions. They merely followed him until they no longer felt like they needed to stay and protect him, and literally walked out on Takatori. He was trying to build a kingdom with him as the king, and Brad told him that they- they being Schwarz- were in no need of a king. They returned to Eszett, for whom they had really been working the whole time, and began to prepare for a ceremony the three leaders of Eszett would perform. Brad and the others dutifully followed their instructions, kidnapping Fujimiya Aya (the comatose female) who is necessary for the ceremony. But the day of the ceremony, Brad gives Eszett the wrong girl, keeping Aya for Schwarz's own plans. It is revealed that they actually were working to bring down Eszett and then to create chaos in the world. They ended up helping Weiss defeat the elders, but then had to fight Weiss themselves. During that battle, the building they were in crumbled around them, and they fell into the sea. (This part is not canon- added by Ro, since there is no canon information on how long it takes Schwarz to regroup after falling into the sea) Brad managed to find Farfarello and Nagi and regroup, but Schuldig was nowhere to be found. They spent the next week and a half searching for him- Brad was absolutly sure that his telepath is alive somewhere- but they had no luck. All during this time, Brad gets brief flashes of Schuldig, alive and well somewhere. As each day goes by, the visions grow stronger...and then, after ten days, he arrives in Econtra. |
